OKLAHOMA CITY – Celebrate Independence Day and the 10th Anniversary of the Bricktown Canal during three days of music and festivities at Red, White & Boom in Bricktown, July 2 – 4.

On Thursday, July 2 at 11 a.m. a special ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bricktown Canal will be held on the canal, right below the Oklahoma Avenue bridge, across from Bourbon Street restaurant. In addition, the late Jim Brewer and the late Neil Horton will be honored with the first ever Bricktown Walk of Fame award.

"Jim and Neil were the true visionaries of Bricktown and what we have here is thanks to their dedication and perseverance," said Jim Cowan, director of the Bricktown Association. "We felt it was only fitting that we honor these two men with the inaugural Walk of Fame award, particularly as are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the canal."

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will play a special outdoor Patriotic Pops Concert on Friday, July 3. Presented by Inasmuch Foundation, the concert will be held in the Oklahoma RedHawks parking lot on the corner of Reno and Joe Carter. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the Philharmonic will take the stage at 8:45 p.m., complete with fireworks. Conducted by Joel Levine with soloist Mike Eldred, the Philharmonic will perform a variety of patriotic selections including God Bless America, America the Beautiful, See the U.S.A. Medley and much more. Admission is free and lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but no outside food or drinks, coolers, pets, professional video equipment or weapons are permitted. Concessions will be available.

From 4:30 p.m. – midnight on Saturday, July 4th enjoy a variety of bands, food, drinks and more under tents on the corner of Sheridan & Oklahoma Avenue in the heart of Bricktown. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Lawn chairs and blankets are permitted, but no outside food or drinks, coolers, pets, professional video equipment or weapons. Patrons can enjoy fireworks immediately following the Oklahoma RedHawks game, at approximately 10 – 10:30 p.m.
