With over 300 banjos on display this is the only museum of its type, the American Banjo Museum is a national treasure dedicated to preserving and promoting the music and heritage of America's native musical instrument - the banjo. An interpretive exhibits tells the evolution of the banjo from its humble roots in American slavery, to bluegrass, to folk and world music. Take a nostalgic walk back in time at the replica of a 1960s Shakey's Pizza Parlor. Live performances are held every Saturday 3 pm-5 pm in the Shakey's Room. Special arrangements can be made for groups to enjoy a special performance and lunch in the Shakey’s Room.
